Battle of Agincourt Archery Workshops

October 18, 2015

archeryThe boys have been treated to archery workshops with Dr Wall this week, to mark the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt. Each session has been filled with excitement, with the boys shooting arrows at a target and creating their own swords. They learned about the Hundred Years War and enjoyed taking part in a re-enactment of the battle, described by Bill, in IIS, as ‘a really brutal game of stuck in the mud’! They also got to hold a longbow and war arrow, as would have been used in the actual battle. The boys have all been sharing their tales about the experience, ‘I got to shoot an arrow at the target. I missed, but it was still really good fun. We then made swords for the re-enactment.’(Edward in Prep IIW). Great fun was had by all!
