Zeb has scooped a Gold Award in the British Physics Olympiad Senior Physics Challenge

A student at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools has scooped a prestigious Gold Award in the British Physics Olympiad Senior Physics Challenge.

Zeb, a student in Monmouth Schools Sixth Form, achieved the outstanding top accolade.

Emma secured an excellent Silver, while Jodie, Ethan, Lily and James all scored a well-deserved Bronze.

“Zeb got a truly outstanding Gold, which is a first in my time here at Monmouth as an organiser,” said Mr Dan Jones, Head of Physics at Monmouth School for Boys.

“Our students all did very well in what is always an extremely tough competition with very high award boundaries.”

The six Year 12 Physicists had been preparing for months for the gruelling challenge run by Oxford University and the Physics Olympiad team.

Mr Jones added: “All six should be congratulated on their achievements and we are very proud of how they did in challenging conditions with a remote competition this year.”
