Swimming season ends in thrilling style

On Thursday, the Monmouth School and HMSG swimming team competed at home against Cathedral School Llandaff. The gala was for Forms I – III, and the event offered scope for 25m and 50m races, with relays. Each team had a full quota of swimmers with 6 swimmers per race, and there were many exciting finishes! Will impressed by winning both the 25m and 50m Backstroke, and there were strong swims by Sam in 25m Breaststroke,  Harvey in 50m Freestyle and 25m Butterfly, Ed in 50m Freestyle and Hugo in 25m Freestyle.  Izumi won both his individual races in 50m Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke, with the Form III relay team (Izumi, Raymond, Ben and Mason) winning both the Free and Medley relays.

This was a thrilling end to the swimming season for the Monmouth team, with the final score: 133 to Monmouth and 130 to Cathedral School.

Swimming club and fixtures resume in September.
