Students from Monmouth spoke an outstanding level of German in lively and spirited debates at Clifton College.

Combined teams from Monmouth School for Boys and Monmouth School for Girls also showed impressive research skills and sound knowledge of German society in the Year 11-13 German debates.

Motions such as “It is better to watch a film than read a book”, “The influence of British and American music is a threat for German pop culture” and “Germany should allow less immigration” were debated keenly by teams from Monmouth; Cathedral School, Llandaff; Clifton College; Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital in Bristol; Bristol Grammar School; and Badminton School.

The Form V/Year 11 team of Roan, Ellie and Tegwen (pictured) won their debate against counterparts from Clifton College.
