Singing competition sparkles with talent

March 9, 2019

Eleven boys took part in this competition, presenting a wide range of repertoire in front of a seasoned adjudicator and a large group of parents and friends.

Alex opened with ‘The Banks of Allan Water’ and Dylan followed with Gounod’s ‘Ave Regina Coelorum’. Thomas M changed the mood somewhat with ‘Fly me to the moon’ and Thomas W changed it back again with ‘I Attempt from Love’s Sickness to Fly’ by Purcell. Oliver gave a spirited account of ‘Ride out the Storm’ and Max followed with the traditional ‘Farmer’s Boy’. Thomas E gave us a sophisticated account of Giordano’s ‘O del mio dolce ardour’ and Cameron followed with Finzi’s quixotic ‘Who is Sylvia?’ Rui charmed with ‘I got you under my skin’, Edward gave an assured performance of ‘Funiculi, funicula’ and Sam closed with the famous ‘O sole mio’.
