The release date for this year’s Senior Play, ‘Girl you don’t know…’ has just been announced as the 19th June.

The production will be available online from Friday 19th June and the eight-strong cast of 6th Form actors (pictured, from the show) have now finished filming and are looking forward to the World Premiere of their lockdown-filmed show.

The writer and director of the show, Mr Shakeshaft, has been delighted with the talent and commitment the students have shown during this project, ‘it’s always difficult tackling a new venture, and this has certainly been a very different challenge for all of us. But the students have fully committed to rehearsals and filming and this says a good deal about their character, as well as their passion for Drama and performance.’
‘The students also had to learn a different style of acting, as stage and screen performance are two very different things, but they have adapted to it brilliantly.’ Mr Shakeshaft added.

‘Girl you don’t know…’ tells the story of a YouTube prank which has gone wrong and how a group of friends have had to confront events in their past in order that they can move on in the present. Mr Shakeshaft wrote the play after the original Senior Play production of another brand new play, ‘That Still Small Voice’ had to be shelved due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

‘We’re all really looking forward to the show being released online and hope that people will watch, as there’s a lot of acting talent on display.’ Mr Shakeshaft said, ‘we’re also going to be setting up a Just Giving page in order that people can donate a nominal ticket price to charity, in the way that they would have done if they’d have seen the show live.’
