Scout James seals spot for global adventure

November 29, 2017

A teenage Monmouth student has sealed his place at the World Scout Jamboree in the USA.

Fourteen-year-old James will be representing Wales at the jamboree in 2019 after passing an interview and impressing in practical tests.

The Monmouth School for Boys pupil is a member of the White Dragon Explorer Scout Unit in Raglan.

James successfully completed an application form and passed a selection camp where he built bridges, cooked food and was interviewed by a panel of assessors.

The 24th World Scout Jamboree takes place in West Virginia and will bring together scouts from around the globe to experience new adventures, cultures, and friendships.
