It was a busy week for Rugby 7s in the build up to the National Schools at Rosslyn Park.

Firstly, our U14s travelled to Cardiff for the Welsh National Schools U14s Competition, played superbly and managed to finish runners-up out of 38 entries. Wins against Cwm Rhondda 31-10, Llangadw Comp 38-0, Bishops Llandaff 31-7, Cardiff High School 31-7 & Plasmawr 22-12 before losing a tight final against Gwendraeth School 25-18.

In addition to this yesterday we hosted our Annual U12 Rugby 7s Competition here at Monmouth which involved 12 different schools from both sides of the border competing for honours. In the cup competition Glantaf defeated Monmouth ‘A’ 6-2 in an exciting final, whilst in the Shield competition Aberdare Comprehensive defeated Monmouth ‘B’ 3-1 in a close affair.
