Race Night rakes it in for Rowers

December 7, 2015

Race Night2ipWith the end of term in sight, one of the most festive and enjoyable weekends in Monmouth School Rowing Club’s calendar began with the annual Race Night. A traditional ‘pull the wooden horse’ affair, boys’ friends and family came together to bet, bid and buy in order to raise funds for the club.

Every year, there is a touching moment when our gap student is presented with his commemorative blade. In 2015, we say our farewells to Henry Morrow; he has been outstanding in his work at the club and we wish him all the very best in his future pursuits.

Usually, the Saturday and Sunday following the event would have hosted both Plum Pudding VIIIs and Monmouth Winter Head; sadly, high water has put a stop to those. MSRC now looks to consolidating the hard work of the Michaelmas Term over Christmas because in January it’s back down to business.
