Oarsome challenge raises £1,500 for mental health

March 3, 2020

Almost 40 rowers at Monmouth School for Boys pushed themselves to the limit to raise more than £1,500 in support of mental health.

The pupils in Monmouth House covered 70km, roughly equivalent to the distance from Dover to Calais and back as a team, in the gruelling indoor rowing challenge.

The 36 boys were supported by Miss Sophie Williams, Mr David Pearson, Mr Owen Williams, Mr Gerry Stentiford, Mr Adam Smith, Headmaster Dr Andrew Daniel and Mr Rob Howe, Housemaster of Monmouth House.

The challenge raised an outstanding £1,587.10, a record-breaking amount for a Monmouth House charity row.

And the money is going towards the mental health charity, Mind, via RTHM (Rowing Together for Healthy Minds).
