Monmouth School Artists at Penallt Festival

September 27, 2015

Penallt Art ipMonmouth boys, from all year groups, were involved in Penallt Art Festival this weekend, which kicked off with the ‘Peg it Up’ Exhibition on Friday evening. There was a fabulous turn out and many of our pupils who were selected to exhibit sold their fabulous work with the proceeds split between the artist and a local charity.

On Sunday, between demonstrations from professional artists, a small group of 6th Form boys ran ‘Have-a-go’ Potter’s wheel sessions. A constant stream of enthused  budding artists, of all ages, were given superb tuition form our 6th Form artists which helped to raise over £100 for the local charity, ATTIK Community Centre.

Mr Peake, Mrs Mone and Mr Tiebosch felt extremely proud and would like to congratulate all of the boys who exhibited and especially the 6th Form pupils for giving up their Sunday and working with such enthusiasm and patience. They were wonderful teachers and it was incredibly rewarding to see so many clearly loving their time on the potter’s wheel.

A big thank you to Mataius, Lennon, Harry, Chris, Josh, Jonathan and Caitlin from HMSG.
