The speedy players at Monmouth School for Boys are celebrating after winning the Under-13 section in Christ College Brecon’s Rugby Sevens Festival.

The Monmouth boys were the only unbeaten team in their age-group having won the initial pool of three teams and then defeating the winners of the two rival pools.

Monmouth recorded wins against the hosts, Christ College Brecon (15-5), and Rhydywaun (35-15) before overcoming Llangatwg (20-15) and Gowerton (20-15).

The Monmouth boys will be hoping to maintain their excellent form when they compete in the annual Fraser Bird Rugby Sevens at The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree on Thursday 5th March.

It will be a busy time for rugby, because Monmouth School for Boys is hosting their own annual Under-12 Sevens competition, involving 22 other schools, on Wednesday 4th March.
