Judges’ praise for senior debating Team

February 10, 2016

Debating SeniorsFollowing their success in the local round, Form IV Public Speakers Joe (Chair), Zamir (Main Speaker) and Jack (Proposer of the Vote of Thanks) battled illness and the elements on Saturday afternoon to compete in the District Final of the Rotary Club’s Youth Speaks Competition.

Sixth Form students from Redmaids School in Bristol presented a compelling case in their round leaving the boys to fight for second place against a confident and assertive team from Malvern College. Whilst holding their nerve and presenting their case that ‘Only a Dead Fish Can go With the Flow’; age and experience won out with Malvern narrowly gaining second place. The judges were unanimous in their praise of our team and, with another three years in this age category, things look extremely positive for these impressive young speakers.
