Head of Maths Dr Huw Evans gained a significant cross country victory over the weekend. Dr Evans was running at the Welsh Cross Country Championship and won his age category (40-44) at Singleton Park, Swansea on Saturday.
Dr Evans, who also coaches cross-country running at Monmouth School said he was, ‘delighted to win especially against such top class opposition and was also very pleased to finish 10th overall, his third best ever finish at the Welsh Champs. It was a tough, muddy, undulating course, but at least it slowed the youngsters down.’
Dr Evans has been running for almost 30 years and can definitely agree that the old maxim ‘a healthy body and a healthy mind’ is very much as true as it’s ever been.
