Hats off to the pupils and staff at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools for taking part in a wonderful charity event.

Friday 26th March was all about headgear, as Monmouth School for Boys and Monmouth School Boys’ Prep supported Wear a Hat Day to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.

This charity was chosen in honour of Samuel, a Year 8 pupil, who underwent brain surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy last year.

Samuel has recovered well and is now looking forward to returning to school for the Summer term.

Samuel and his friends at Chapel House have already raised more than £4,400 after an innovative event where they stayed in bed for 24 hours to support the youngster through his treatment.

The money has been donated to the children’s ward in Southampton, where Samuel received his treatment.
