Two stunning pieces of work by a gifted artist, who dazzled with her oil paintings, has been accepted into a prestigious exhibition.

Megan Payne, who studied A level Art and Design at Monmouth School for Boys last year, has been recognised in the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) Star Students Competition.

Megan’s sensitive and thoughtfully composed Sisters with Cats study was submitted for the RBA’s consideration by The Arts Society Monmouthshire.

Megan also painted the family cats of Mr Matt Peake and Ms Sheila Mone as a sign of appreciation for their support during her A level studies.

“Megan is certainly one of the best students we have ever taught,” said Mr Peake, Head of Art and Design.?

Megan’s two oil paintings will now be included in an online exhibition of all 20 selected artworks on The Arts Society’s Connected website by the end of this month.
