German exchange continues legacy of friendship

February 8, 2016

From 28th January to the 6th February, Form IV pupils Anuj, Ben, Harry and Jago played hosts to their partners Eugen, Tom, Tim and Dmitri from the Sigena Gymnasium in Nuremberg. This was the fourth successful Exchange with our friends from Bavaria and we were all keen to show our visitors the warm welcome and hospitality which we so enjoy when we visit German in Michaelmas half-term. The partners enjoyed attending lessons at Monmouth School, as well as participating in cross-country runs, rowing sessions and even trying their hand at touch rugby. The Art and DT Departments welcomed the group from Sigena, offering them the opportunity to try their hand at pottery and make their own commemorative keyrings. We also enjoyed daytrips to the Roman baths in Bath, the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff and Chepstow Castle.
