Cricketers poised for exciting Sophia Gardens tournament

Cricketers at Monmouth School for Boys will be competing this week in an inaugural four-team tournament at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Master in Charge of Cricket, Mr Andrew Jones, is organising the event which also involves the first teams at The Cathedral School, Llandaff; Welsh Colleges; and Christ College, Brecon.

The Welsh Schools Day – 100 Ball Tournament takes place on on Wednesday 26th June and forms part of Monmouth’s exciting partnership with Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

Monmouth will play Christ College, Brecon, in their semi-final at 1pm after The Cathedral School have faced Welsh Colleges at 10.30am.

The final of the competition is scheduled to take place between the winners of the two semi-finals from 4pm and 7pm.

“We would like as many people as possible to join us in supporting the boys on this special occasion in the inaugural Welsh Schools Day – 100 Ball Tournament ,” said Headmaster at Monmouth School for Boys, Dr Andrew Daniel.

Schedule:

Semi-final 1: 10.30am Cathedral School v Welsh Colleges.

Semi-final 2: Monmouth School for Boys v Christ College, Brecon.

Final: 4pm-7pm.
