Chapel Choir delight at Joint Alumni Carol Service

December 11, 2017

The Chapel Choir (with some Trebles ‘borrowed’ from the Choral Society!!) travelled up to the City of London and were privileged to sing at St Lawrence Jewry-next-Guildhall in the heart of the City for the Joint Alumni Carol Service on Friday 8th December.

After a very efficient rehearsal they sang what amounted to a full Service of Lessons and Carols, all of 150 miles from home, which is no mean feat!  This included Michael Head’s very tricky The Little Road to Bethlehem and Peter Cornelius’ famous The Three Kings with a very beautiful solo by Christian.  Afterwards it was a great pleasure to mingle with and talk to the 100-or-so Alumni who had made it to the event on what was a freezing evening.

On the way back the choristers warmed up courtesy of McDonald’s in Beaconsfield . . . congratulations to all involved, both pupils and staff.
