Brecon league success for x-country team

November 2, 2018

Before half-term the Monmouth School cross-country team travelled to Gwernyfed for round three of the Brecon League.

The course included hills, ditches and a vault over a fence all of that on top of cold, wet and sunny conditions. The junior race was a big success with six in the top ten from Monmouth school. Henry led the team home in 2nd place just missing out on the win, closely followed by Harry who showed his class yet again finishing in 3rd place. Then came Rhys in 4th and Oliver in 5th who ran very solidly together, closely followed by Gwyndaf in 8th and Gregor, on his XC debut, in 10th. Yet again in the senior race Monmouth School did really well. Robbie ran brilliantly and secured 2nd in a sprint finish, closely followed by George in 4th, Joshua in 6th whilst Tony in 7th completed the scoring four. A special mention must go to Tomos, running for the first time in the seniors, who finished a highly creditable 8th. Well done to everyone in both teams who all ran very hard. We look forward to the final race of the 2018 Brecon League season to be held in Christ College just after half term.

Many thanks to Henry from Dean House for this excellent report.
