A former student at Monmouth School for Boys has taken up an exciting sailing job in the Caribbean.
Fresh from a yacht delivery over Christmas, Angus Whitehead is now Captain of the Friendship Rose in Bequia, the second-largest island in the Grenadines.
Angus, 19, is leading a crew of four Bequian natives, including a professional chef.
Having gained the crew’s trust and respect, the Old Monmothian is leading scheduled sailing trips to Mustique twice a week and Tobago Cays twice a week; the other days are set aside for private charters.
Angus has grown in confidence after qualifying as a professional offshore yachtmaster.
The young sailor has now gained his Bequian driving licence and is enjoying his latest sea adventure.
