The clever cohort have received offers to study subjects as varied as Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture and Chemistry.
James, who joined the Haberdashers’ Monmouth family at Pre-Prep & Nursery, has been offered a place to study Classics at Corpus Christi College, Oxford.
He said: “I was ecstatic when I finally heard back from Oxford about my application, after sustaining a constant level of anxiety over the Christmas holidays. By January, I was fit to burst! Reading through the letter was an immense relief, knowing that my personal statement, entrance exam and interview had all been worth it.”
James is grateful to Monmouth School for Boys’ Classics department for helping him prepare for each stage of the interview process.
He added: “It amazes me how far I have come since entering the Haberdashers’ system in the Nursery department. I am grateful to the schools for nurturing our talent and giving us a most resplendent springboard to launch ourselves into exciting and fulfilling lives.”
James must achieve three As at A level to secure his place.
Sam and James C, another Pre-Prep alumnus, have been offered places to study Computer Science at Cambridge and Oxford respectively. Oxford has also offered James B a place to read Law and Ronald the chance to study Chemistry. Harry has received an offer from Cambridge to study Architecture..
“The application process was daunting, but the practice at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools helped me understand and focus on what I needed to do. I feel that being a rower at Monmouth School for Girls, with its disciplined training schedule and high aspirations, has helped me to succeed. It’s shown me that by working hard and aiming high, anything is possible.”
Also from Monmouth School for Girls, Cindy has been offered a place to study Maths at Cambridge and Katie the opportunity to read History at Oxford.
